Midland Surveying, Inc. was established in 1973 under the corporate structure of Midland Engineering, Inc., which existed as a surveying, civil engineering, and mapping company for over 30 years. Today, that company includes Midland Surveying, Inc. and Midland GIS Solutions.
With six (6) Professional Land Surveyors licensed in six states throughout the Central United States, and one Certified Federal Surveyor (CFedS), Midland Surveying, Inc. provides professional land surveying, mapping and GIS services throughout the Country, primarily in the Midwest Region. Midland Surveying, Inc. has the most technically capable staff and the latest survey equipment to complete your survey project to the highest standards.
Midland Surveying, Inc. was established under the corporate structure of Midland Engineering, Inc., which was founded in 1973. Located in Northwest Missouri, the company was a local provider of professional land surveying, civil engineering and mapping services, primarily in Northwest Missouri and Southwest Iowa. The company grew steadily and expanded operations to St. Joseph, Missouri in 1985.
Midland continued to broaden their service areas throughout the entire states of Missouri and Iowa and into eastern Kansas and southeastern Nebraska. In 2000, company Principals John Teale, P.L.S. and Troy Hayes, P.L.S. realized a need for surveying firms willing to provide surveying and mapping services to various state and federal agencies on a regional basis. Their commitment to meeting the needs of those agencies led to the restructuring of Midland Engineering, Inc.
In 2001, the company refocused the services they provided, moving away from civil engineering and expanding on surveying services and mapping services to include Geographic Information Systems. That year the engineering services department of Midland Engineering was acquired by Snyder & Associates of Ankeny, Iowa, a large regional engineering firm.
At present, Midland Engineering, Inc. now exists as two separate companies, Midland Surveying, Inc. with Hayes as its President and Midland GIS Solutions, LLC with Teale serving as its President. The two companies work closely on numerous projects for a variety of clients throughout the central United States. With Midland’s decision to move away from civil engineering and expand on their capability to provide surveying and mapping services, came an expanded relationship with many engineering and architectural design firms, as well as numerous aerial mapping companies..
The relationships we have developed in the private sector have allowed us to partner with firms offering engineering, architectural and aerial mapping services, to successfully serve numerous state and federal agencies that must set aside specified amounts of work for small businesses. Many of these small business contracts usually require services that typical small businesses cannot exclusively provide. The successful relationships that Midland Surveying, Inc. maintains with other service firms, makes us a valuable resource for these agencies.
